mission

treePacific Rim Productions is an experiment in social entrepreneurship and has been formed to facilitate the production of a feature film based on the story of the Tonquin. We will strive to use the highest standards of social and cultural responsibility and aim to leave enduring legacies that connect and grow across the globe.

Cultural tourism is in its infancy in many parts of the world and an overlooked resource. A film that leaves sets behind would help immensely with the overwhelming need for new sustainable industries. In Clayoquot Sound, the largest piece of intact forest on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, and a UNESCO Biosphere, many new cultural tourism jobs would relieve the "economic need" to continue with unsustainable industries.

Aside from the enormous focus a film would provide, DVD extras and documentaries could educate people on the plight of Canada's rainforests and the people that call them home, and could show what has been left behind by the production. Sets and props could be modified and turned into tools to educate many on fascinating cultures. In addition, people could learn about the environment and what they can do to help restore it. All kinds of healing could take place. This project will benefit the environments, the cultures, the societies, and the economies of the Northwest, Hawaii, and beyond.
